I’m planning a trip to Lisbon in 2025 and will look into this gem when I have more clarity on my exact dates of travel. It looks so relaxing and peaceful, and with good food to boot by the looks of it!

Oh, you’d certainly have plenty of space here… you can also dine al fresco as the restaurant spills out on to a lovely terrace with fabulous views of the estate.

Thank you, Sharon… I’m glad you find them helpful. We try to be really comprehensive, covering not just the property but also the destination, etc.

Lots of my friends still have a phobia of getting too close to other people.

It’s carrying through into our travel. The sort of space that Casa Pamela has appeals to me now far more than it did before the pandemic.

I’ve been to the carriages museum in Lisbon on a previous visit, but not a tiles one. I see you are right, though… the National Tile Museum in the Madredeus region of the city.

If I remember rightly there’s even a tiles museum in Lisbon.

Casa Palmela goes to show that there’s far more to Portugal than just the Algarve, Lisbon and Porto.

Hi Sarah

Yes, that’s the Troia peninsula that you can see in the picture. Praia da Comenda is the closest beach – it’s a walk of about 3kms.

I’m not really a sun lounger sort of person but I enjoy a walk along a quiet beach if possible. Is there a beach within walking distance?

I don’t know where you’re based, Roxii… but flights from London to Lisbon start from just £89 return in July (actually from Luton with Wizzair, 10-17 July), and from less than £50 return in October with Ryanair.

Hi Jim – definitely nothing bland about Hotel Casa Palmela! I’ve stayed at lots of SLH properties over the years, and this one is certainly a credit to the group.

Hi Mike

Hotel Casa Palmela actually has a sister hotel in Lisbon also – Alecrim ao Chiado.

Hi Natasha – it’s actually a natural park, rather than a national park (I think the key distinction between the two is that natural parks are managed locally rather than nationally). Portugal has just one national park (Peneda-Gerês National Park) and 13 natural parks.

I’m pleased to hear you’ve been to Setubal!
